Definition	Forests of the boreonemoral transition zone between taiga and temperate lowland deciduous forests in which conifers, mostly [Pinus sylvestris], share the main canopy with deciduous trees, usually [Quercus robur], [Betula pendula] or [Betula pubescens ssp. czerepanovii], accompanied by an undergrowth formed by lichens and dwarf, matted, ericoid shrubs. A number of subunits can be distinguished with species cortèges similar to those of conifer taiga forests of unit G3.B4 or of deciduous woods of unit G1.8, in particular, G1.81 and G1.821, or of unit G1.91721.
