Concept: Geysers in the eunishabitats vocabulary

Concept URI http://eunis.eea.europa.eu/eunishabitats/C2.13
Preferred label Geysers
Definition Springs from which heated water and steam is ejected, sometimes violently, at periodic intervals, in active or recently active volcanic regions. Major geysers are rare, known from only four areas in the world, and within the Palaearctic region, as here defined, only from Iceland and the northwestern Pacific rim. The proximal zone of geysers may host distinctive communities of lower plants and invertebrates.
