Definition The amount of collected municipal waste and collection rate are used to calculate the amount of generated municipal waste.
Methodology for obtaining data Amount of municipal waste collected per year per coastal region, including collection rate and waste composition.

“Municipal waste” refers to waste collected by or on behalf of municipalities; the main part originates from households, but similar wastes from commerce and trade, office buildings, institutions and small businesses is also included.
