Allowable values of procedureEmissionsMethod element

Code Label Definition
calculated Point sources only - Values of emissions are based on calculations It is used when the emission data are based on calculations using activity data (fuel used, production rate, etc.) and emission factors or mass balances. In some cases more complicated calculation methods can be applied.
estimated Point and diffuse sources - Values of emissions are based on non-standardised estimations It is used when the emission data are determined by best assumptions or expert guesses that are not based on models (diffuse sources) or publicly available references or in case of absence of recognised emission estimation methodologies or good practice guidelines.
measured Point sources only - Values of emissions are based on measurements Additional calculations are needed to convert the results of measurements into annual emission data. For these calculations the results of flow determinations are needed. The method should also be used when the annual emission data are determined based on the results of short term and spot measurements. It is used when the emission data are derived from direct monitoring results for specific processes, based on actual continuous or discontinuous measurements of pollutant concentrations for a given release route.
modelled Diffuse sources only - Values of emissions are based on model results Any relevant model for diffuse emission data can be used.
