Definition	This reporting obligation has been created for technical reasons. It identifies the deliveries of national text reports under the MSFD reporting on Articles 8 (assessment), 9 (determination of GES) and 10 (establishment of environmental targets). Member States shall, in respect of each marine region or subregion concerned, and regarding the implementation of a marine strategy for their marine waters, make an assessment, determine a set of characteristics for good environmental status on the basis of the qualitative descriptors listed in Annex I, and establish a comprehensive set of environmental targets and associated indicators for their marine waters to guide towards achieving good environmental status in the marine environment taking into account the indicative lists of pressures and impacts and characteristics of Annex III.
