Definition	The purpose of this Recommendation is to prevent and eliminate pollution by oil and other substances caused by discharges of produced water into the sea. This Recommendation applies only to those offshore installations that discharge produced water to the maritime area. This Recommendation is in addition to the controls on the use and discharge of chemicals established by OSPAR Decision 2000/2 on a Harmonised Mandatory Control System for the Use and Reduction of the Discharge of Offshore Chemicals
