Definition Accumulations of boulders, stones and rock fragments which are bare or colonised by lichens or mosses, or by sparse herb- or shrub-dominated communities. Included are block slopes, block streams and block fields constructed by periglacial depositional processes of downslope mass movement, and ancient beach deposits constituted by former coastal constructional processes. Weathered rock outcrops are classified as H3.6.
