They are often colonised by unique plant assemblages, the components of which are, however, equally characteristic of other habitats; notable among such species are [Saxifraga paniculata], [Alchemilla glabra], [Viola palustris], [Phegopteris connectilis], [Aurinia saxatilis], [Dianthus nitidus].
