| Definition | Forests of the boreonemoral transition zone between taiga and temperate lowland deciduous forests in which conifers, [Picea abies], [Picea obovata], [Pinus sylvestris], [Abies sibirica], share the main canopy with deciduous trees, mostly [Quercus robur], but also [Betula pendula] or [Betula pubescens ssp. czerepanovii], accompanied by an undergrowth rich in forbs, ferns and mesophile grasses. A number of subunits can be distinguished with species cortèges similar to those of conifer taiga forests of units G3.A2-G3.A4, G3.B3 or of deciduous woods of units G1.A141, G1.918, G1.91724- G1.91726. |
