Definition Forests of humid, fogbound north- and northwest-facing slopes in the lower reaches of the [Pinus canariensis] belt, with an abundance of [Erica arborea] and [Myrica faya], and occasionally with [Ilex canariensis] and [Arbutus canariensis]; epiphytic lichens are abundant, as are dense carpets of mosses, in particular, [Hypnum cupressiforme]. These woods are the main habitat of [Regulus teneriffae].
